Mustang is out...

Finally I got the mustang running! The owner had came by to lend a hand. There were just a few little things to wrap up. I charged the battery, installed a new pcv valve and hose, coil wire and changed the oil and filter. I went with distilled water and some water wetter witch actually cools better than 50/50 mix. I had a little trouble getting the car started, so I had to go over the firing order and that was fine. Made some carburetor adjustment and then the engine came to life. Once on made the timing adjustment and set it to 34 degrees at 3,000 rpm. let it run for a while to get the water temp up and seal the radiator with the cap. once running a operating temperature I made more adjustment to the carburetor and now she was idling real nice. The owner still wants to replace the valve cover gaskets, power steering pump, alternator and brackets. New spark plug wire and eventually a new distributor and coil. Here are some videos from the start up and a little parallel parking. I will post more of a test drive soon.

 

 

Christmas is here...

Has been a real busy month and now I get to do a catch up post. I'm finally wrapping up the mustang project. I got my pickup's clutch working right. Soon I will start the the chevelle project 2.0 engine over haul and some patch work. I got some weight lifting equipment for Christmas so a work out a few minute's a day is in the works. Oh and now I will be posting some cool videos using my new go pro camera. Thanks Babe. Will post more soon. Heres some pictures.

Throttle linkage

Spend sometime getting the throttle linkage to work with the new carburetor and original knockdown linkage. There's a flat spot on the rod that will push down on the transmission linkage to down shift at full throttle.  Check it out.

Been too busy!

I will get some work done today. I washed my pick up, my chevelle and I will clean my garage. Then get some work done on the mustang.

Mustang update

Well its been slow these few weeks. I put some work in to the mustang and cleaned the garage a bit. The rainy season is coming so I need to make room for all my stuff I have out side. On the mustang I have the new intake manifold on, the timing gears were replaced, the crankshaft seal was replaced, the new water pump is on and new carburetor. I still need some miscellaneous parts to finish the job. So now I'm waiting for the owner to bring me more parts. Here's the progress.

Been working to much

Just a quick post,been working a lot at Lexus so I have not done much in the garage. Worked for a few hours on the mustang project. Some yard work and other BS house stuff. The highlight is I drove my truck to work in Santa Barbara. That was cool because I was with the early morning commute. Well I will post soon. Here's some snaps.

Stripping cuz im sick...

I have been sick these last few days. So I got my stripping brushes and 1shot paint out for some lil practice. By no means an I an artist, the pros will be doing my real work on my pick up truck. I have a 00 and 0 stripping brush that I tipped my self. Does real thin to fat lines. I practiced on some glass I have then on lil jars,wood, tools sect. I did a ratchet for my buddy Randy's bday. Well here's the work.

1965 Mustang 302

Got another car that needs the Danny treatment. This is my buddy's stang, I had done a front wilwood disc brake conversion a few years ago. Now he wants to go fast. The 2 barrel is not cutting it. So now we are doing a top end up grade and timing gear swap with a new aluminum water pump. I am going to reseal the oil pan and timing cover. New edelbrock intake and holly carburetor. Ford motor sport valve cover and air cleaner. Will be posting the progress.

Working on lil bandit

Today we're at Eddie's working on lil bandit. We are swapping out frames cause the original one was toast. The frame was all bent and the front horns were welded all fucked up. The other frame is in good shape so now we are swapping out all the right hand drive parts over. Eddie is modefyin his intake manifold to work with his stock exhaust manifold. This thing needs a lot of work but we will get it goin soon. Heres some progress pictures.

Ventura Nationals 2012

What a long day!  Got up early to get my truck loaded up. Got the trophy done. All the club members met up at the Ventura harbor Vons. Jack Taylor came out to cruise in with us. Jesse came out with his 51 merc, Marcos came out with his 50 Fleetline. We had Jim Sharp and Bud Hammer come through. Cooked some carne asada con Pollo. Drank beers. Went to Kiwi Kev's house for the pig roast. Came home and now I'm resting. Here's some photos.

Vega steering..

Today I got a chance to install the rebuilt Vega box that I got from Pomona swap meet. The original steering box had to much play and I could not adjust it any more. $120 bucks later I have a 3 year warranty Vega box. Now I'm under my avocado tree working on the pick up. This is a shady tree type job cause it's hot out side. The box is in and test driven. What a difference! The real test is on the hywy. Here's some photos.

Today I got a chance to work on my homie Richard 's 54 Chevy. I got the headlamp and tail lamp wiring done. We worked on the trunk and installed some carpet material. We are getting the car ready for the Ventura Nationals. I will keep you guys posted on the progress.
