Mini Motorcycle...

I'm getting my 1969 Colton "CAT 250" ready for some track duty at the Lifter's car show next weekend. I changed the oil, replaced a fuel pipe and cleaned it all up. Got some Valvoline racing oil for the hot temperatures it's going to run in. I still have to lube the chain and steering. I have some video of the mini moto but I'm having trouble downloading it, so for now enjoy some photos.

Ready for ACTION!!!

Dash is BLACK!!!

Today I decided to paint the dash black, I thought it would make the new gauge cluster pop. I had a white pearl before but it was getting to dirty looking. I had my wife mask off the area and I went over it with a Brillo pad to scuff it up a bit. I used Rust-o-leum rattle can cause that's what I had, flat black first. I then used semi-gloss to finish it up. Looks better now.

This is the pearl white I had.

I painted the dash flat black first
before I do the low gloss finish.

Got the Low gloss on now.

Here is the glove box and dash top.

Here we have the finished product.
Thank you Rust-o-leum

Cheese gauge panel...

Yeah sometimes you just have to make cheesy parts in this case its a gauge panel for my 36 ford. I had some turned piece of aluminum laying around and I got an idea to make a cluster. The gauge holes on the truck are way to big for regular gauges and I got some SW gauges I want to install. I made a pattern off the original holes on the dash and transferred it to the piece of aluminum. I kind of wanted it to look like a race style dash but I don't have room for more gauges so three will be used. MPH, oil pressure, water temp will be on the cluster, later I will add the turn signal and the high beam indicator, the fuel and volt gauge are going to go on another panel on the dash. Check out the panel, not bad for an hour of work.

Here is the final cut.

Here is the temporary gauges installed.

Firestone Tires...

Had to dish out some doe to buy some new tires for the pick up. I am making a trip down to San Diego for the 'King of Club" show and visit my buddy Travis. The tires I had were old and had a lot of dry rot on the side walls. It was making me nervous to drive long distances and I didn't want a blow out on the highway. I picked up the tires from Performance Plus Tires in Long Beach. Luis the sales guy was cool and really helped me out. I  ended up getting the same tires I had before because it gave the truck the right look. Firestone Deluxe Champion's 670-15 with a 1" white wall. Check them out.

Happy 4th of July

Today we were in Fillmore for the chilly cook off and car show. The weather was good, the cruise out there was nice.  There was a lot of cars out today and a lot of people too. There was some old school Pharaoh's out checking out our cars and displays. They had some good stories to share with the new generation of Pharaoh's. Well lets cut to the pictures.
